Field trips last 1 hour and have a 40 kid max. If
over 40 kids, split into two field trip groups. Chaperones
are required if more than 16 kids (1 chaperone/6 kids).
These times allow staff to go into their next shift.
Earlier is possible if staff are willing.
During charter:
- Monday: 12:15pm - 1:15pm
- Tuesday: 11:30am - 12:30pm
- Wednesday: 12:15pm - 1:15pm
- Thursday: 12:15pm - 1:15pm
- Friday: 11:30am - 12:30pm
Staff must be trained parkour coaches.
- 8 kids or less: 1 coach
- 9-16 kids: 2 coaches
- 17-22 kids: 2 coaches + chaperones
- 22-40 kids: 3-4 coaches + chaperones
- 1 coach: Treat as a 1 hour class. Verify waivers first.
- 2 coaches: Coach 1 does warmup. Coach 2 does check-in.
Set up obstacle courses or stations. Assign chaperones to specific areas.
- Possible areas: rope swing, ring swing, foam pit, warped wall.
- Potential games run by chaperone: precision points, mirror mirror,
block balancers, around the world.
5 obstacle courses/stations, ~8 kids/spot. You can let teachers know
they’ll be split into 5 different groups, in case they have a way they’d
like to do it.
- Full group warmup (Simon Says) and “What is parkour” talk: 5 mins.
- Station rotations: 8-9 mins/rotation.
- Station 1: rope and ring swing (2 chaperones)
- Station 2: warped wall and climbing/balance return (1 chaperone @
warped wall)
- Station 3: precision points game (1 chaperone, ensure obstacles are planks)
- Station 4: vaulting and climbing in Pre Area (1 chaperone)
- Station 5: foam pit jumps (1 chaperone that can climb the ladder)
- Ending talk and thank you to teachers/chaperones: 1-2 mins.
